Reinforcements are part of the defence and deterrence strategy.

Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said this on Twitter.

According to the politician, Poland started building fortifications on the border with Belarus, including the installation of anti-tank hedgehogs.

Today soldiers have begun building up the fortifications on the border with Belarus. This is part of our defense and deterrence strategy.

These fortifications are being erected in addition to those already under construction since the beginning of February on the border with the Kaliningrad region.

It is also worth recalling that last summer Poland erected a 5-metre fence on its border with Belarus. The length of the fence is almost 190 kilometers.

The country also announced its intention to build an electronic fence on its border with Russia.
