Six Defence Forces pilots killed near Bakhmut during a combat mission
Six pilots of the Igor Sikorsky 18th Independent Brigade of Army Aviation died in a plane crash on 29 August
This is reported by "Suspilne" with reference to the speaker of the brigade Yevhen Rakita.
According to the report, two helicopters of military aviation fell in Donetsk region under unknown circumstances, the aircraft were completely destroyed. The investigation of the incident is being handled by the GBR.
The pilots were performing tasks on two Mi-8 helicopters. The dead had officer ranks. One of them was from Poltava region, the rest - from other regions of Ukraine.
Now the names and circumstances of the deaths are not disclosed for security reasons, Yevhen Rakita adds.
The dead are to be said goodbye to in Poltava. The memorial service will be held on 1 September at 10:00 near the Holy Dormition Cathedral. The pilot from Poltava region will be buried at his place of residence, others will be taken to the regions where they come from.
