Almost 50 victims: Russians hit grocery shop in Kharkiv region

A child of six years old is among the dead.

The Russians have launched a missile attack on a grocery shop in Kharkiv Region. According to the head of the Kharkiv regional administration, Oleh Sinegubov, the strike occurred in the Groza settlement. The attack killed 48 people, including a 6-year-old boy.

Vladimir Zelensky also reported this - but according to him, the dead were 47.

Zelensky expressed his condolences to all who have lost relatives and friends and once again emphasised that Russian terror must be stopped. The President said that he is now talking to European leaders about strengthening Ukrainian air defence systems and reinforcing warriors.

Everyone who helps Russia circumvent sanctions is a criminal. Everyone who supports Russia so far is supporting evil. Russia needs this and similar terrorist attacks for one thing only: to make its genocidal aggression the new norm for the whole world. And I thank every leader, every nation that supports us in defence of life!" he said.

Meanwhile, bodies are being pulled from under the rubble. The number of victims may grow.

The injured are being treated.

The head of the presidential office, Andrei Yermak, wrote in Telegram that six people were injured.

One child - a girl - was injured. Debris removal continues," he wrote.

The regional prosecutor's office, as of 16 hours, reports 49 dead and seven injured.

In turn, the media wrote that there was a cafe on the territory of the store, in which many people had gathered at the time of the strike. Village residents came to a memorial dinner for someone who had died earlier.
