Pentagon: War in Ukraine could last another three years
The Pentagon is not ruling out different developments.
US Under Secretary of Defence for Political Affairs Colin Kahl said during a congressional hearing:
We don't know the trajectory of the conflict. The conflict could end in six months or it could end in two or three years.
The Pentagon does not expect Russia to make progress on the front, but it does not rule out that the Russian Federation may advance on some fronts, but the Russian Federation will spend a lot of resources and time to do so.
Kahl also said that he counted on Congress' support for military assistance to Kiev even if the war continues.
The deputy minister also noted that there was no smuggling of transferred weapons in Ukraine:
Certain weapons may have fallen into Russian hands during combat, which always happens in war conditions. However, he said, there is no evidence that Ukrainians are diverting weapons to the black market.
