OSCE Parliamentary Assembly recognises Russian Federation as sponsor of terrorism
On the eve, Putin acknowledged that the Wagner PMC had received state funding.
The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly has recognized the Russian Federation as a state sponsor of terrorism and the Wagner PMC as a terrorist organization. The deputy head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction, Yevheniya Kravchuk, said this on Facebook.
She noted that the organization's final declaration says that the actions of the Wagner PMC on behalf of the Russian government "can be rightly described as terrorist. In this context, it is noted that the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has personally admitted that Wagner was "fully financed" by the Russian Federation.
This is the first time such wording has been enshrined in an official document of an international organization," Kravchuk said.
According to her, the declaration also says that OSCE member states should take measures against Wagner and its affiliated and right successor structures, including by declaring them terrorist organizations.
A reminder that the first international organization to recognize Russia as a terrorist state was the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
