Man who gave Russians coordinates of a checkpoint and bomb shelter in de-occupied Liman convicted

A resident of the town of Liman was found guilty of collaboration (part 7 of article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The convict was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities related to the performance of organisational and administrative functions in the bodies of state power and local self-government for a period of 15 years and with confiscation of property.

This is reported by the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General.

The prosecutor proved in court that the supporter of Russian ideology, dissatisfied with the de-occupation of the town of Liman by the Ukrainian military, in May 2023 contacted his acquaintance, with whom he had once studied at school. He turned out to be a gunner of the tank company of the tactical group "Dome" of one of the motorised rifle brigades of the "DNR"," the report said.

The convict willingly sent the gunner information with data on the location of the AFU and the roadblock on the territory of Liman in the banned Russian social network. In one of the messages the attacker gave the coordinates of the location of the bomb shelter.

In addition, during interrogation, the man confessed that he deliberately scattered self-tapping screws on the roads to puncture the tyres of the vehicles of the Ukrainian defenders.

For such devotion, the occupation administration appointed him as an ordinary storekeeper of one of the local warehouses, - added in the office of the Prosecutor General's office.

It is noted that the convict did not admit his guilt. He was waiting for the court verdict in custody.
