The solidarity project "Cold Winter 2026: Kiev and Seattle Together" continues.

on 23 February at 19:00, a concert of the Ukrainian-American solidarity project "Cold winter-2026: Kiev and Seattle together" will be held at the point of indestructibility of the Central Railway Station in Kiev.

This was reported in the orchestra "Kyiv-Classic".

The project started on 13 February and envisages a series of classical concerts for Kyiv, for Kyiv residents at the points of indestructibility, which will last until the end of February.

The project is organised by The Humanity Funds and the Kyiv-Classic Orchestra.

During the concerts, Kyiv citizens will hear classical music performed by the Kyiv-Classic Orchestra under the direction of Herman Makarenko, UNESCO Artist for Peace and People's Artist of Ukraine.

It is symbolic that this concert of our project takes place on the anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, because at the beginning of the big war, on 9 March 2022, our orchestra went to the Independence Square in Kiev, then we played with the call to close the sky over Ukraine. Today we play with a call for solidarity with Ukraine, which has been living in full-scale war for four years - we believe and know that societies in the United States and Europe hear us and stand in solidarity with Ukraine in its quest for peace, - said German Makarenko.

This is the second concert of the Ukrainian-American Solidarity Project, which aims to express support for Kyiv residents, all Ukrainians living under constant Russian attacks, many of whom are without heat and light.

As Silke Johnston, CEO of The Humanity Funds, explained, the idea of the project is to show the solidarity of American citizens with Ukrainians, to support them in difficult times, to warm them with music during the hardest winter of this war.

These performances are also a message from the United States," said Silke Johnston. - Americans stand with Ukraine - not only with help and advocacy, but also with solidarity. Music knows no borders, and at times like this it becomes a lifeline.

The first concert of the Ukrainian-American project "Cold Winter-2026: Kiev and Seattle Together" took place on 13 February, and it started with an air raid, which delayed the audience and musicians, and on the last note the alarm sounded again because of another Russian attack on Kiev.

Synopsis. In May 2024, The Humanity Funds and the Kyiv-Classic Orchestra teamed up for a benefit concert, "A Child's Dream" in Seattle, which raised funds to support Kyiv's children's hospital, Okhmatdet. The current concert series continues this shared mission for people directly in Ukraine.
