The SBU has reported suspicion of a Russian occupier who received a "hero of Russia" for killing civilians in Bucha.

TheSBU has identified the Russian occupier involved in the mass torture and killing of civilians during the temporary occupation of Kiev Region, the SBU has said. This is reported by the SBU.

The attacker is Lieutenant Nursultan Mussagaleyev - commander of the reconnaissance platoon of the 104th Airborne Assault Regiment of the 76th Airborne Assault Division of the Russian Armed Forces (Pskov). After the escape of the invaders from the Kiev region, the highest military and political leadership of the Russian Federation awarded Mussagaleev with the star "Hero of Russia" and the medal "For combat honours", - stated in the message.

It is established that on 24 February 2022 Mussagaleev as part of the occupation groups of Russia crossed the northern border of Ukraine and arrived in Buchanskiy district to prepare for an offensive on Kiev.

During his stay on the territory of the community, Mussagaleyev participated in so-called "mop-up operations" aimed at suppressing resistance movements and intimidating residents of the region.

During one such punitive action, the commander of a Russian reconnaissance platoon ordered his subordinates to kidnap a 29-year-old local resident who was travelling by car through an enemy checkpoint. The victim was taken to a forest near the village of Dmitrovka, where he was brutally tortured for a long time and then, on Mussagaleyev's order, shot and the body was dumped at the murder scene," the SBU said.

TheSBU has obtained the testimony of a Russian prisoner who was part of Mussagaleev's unit at the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion. The prisoner of war confirmed the fact of torture and shooting of a resident of Buchanskiy district.

Two more subordinates of Mussagaleyev who shot the victim were also identified. They turned out to be the deputy platoon commander of the occupants' platoon, senior sergeant Oleksiy Kolesnikov, and the commander of the 2nd squad of the enemy unit, sergeant Oleksandr Viselkov.

Investigators of the SBU informed Mussagaleyev and his two accomplices of suspicion under part 1 of article 28 and parts 1, 2 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of laws and customs of war committed by a group of persons).
