Office of the Prosecutor General: agent of Russian special services prepared the murders of Reznikov and Budanov
His test assignment was to kill the leader of a combat unit.
This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
One of the agents turned out to be a resident of Luhansk region, who since 2014 had supported Russian aggression against Ukraine. He personally took part in combat operations in the ranks of the so-called LNR people's militia.
After the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he was on Russian territory. There he was recruited by representatives of the Chief Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
In the spring, the agent received an assignment from his handlers to prepare the assassination of the head of one of the units. To carry out this task he recruited a man from Kiev, whose duties included surveillance of the target and his further liquidation with the use of firearms.
The murder of the head of the combat unit should become a "test" task before the execution of other contract murders of political and public figures of our state - the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, the head of the State Security Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
For the murder of each of them, the Russian handlers promised a reward of 100 thousand U.S. dollars.
In August 2022, as a result of a multi-stage special operation, the organizer was detained in the Volyn region. He is currently in custody.
