Night strike on Kiev: death toll from Russian ballistic attack rises
It was an alarming and tragic night in the Ukrainian capital as Kiev was subjected to a massive ballistic strike by Russian troops.
The night of 25 October in the Ukrainian capital turned into a series of powerful explosions as the Russian army attacked Kiev with ballistic missiles. According to the latest data released by Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, the number of victims has risen: two dead and 12 injured, three of whom are in hospitals.
Heavy destruction was recorded on the left bank of the capital - in Darnitsky, Dniprovsky and Desnyansky districts. Windows and doors were broken in several houses, a kindergarten was damaged, and fires broke out in non-residential buildings and warehouses as a result of falling debris. Several cars were completely burnt out.
In Darnytskyi district - fires at two locations, in Dniprovskyi - damage near residential buildings, and in Desnyanskyi cars and warehouses caught fire, - said Klitschko, adding that rescuers continue to eliminate the consequences.
Earlier, the Kiev military administration informed about ten wounded and one dead, but the number of injured increased after the data was clarified.
The AFU air force said that Ukrainian air defence had shot down four Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 50 attack drones, but some of them still reached their targets - hits were recorded in 11 locations.
Ukrainian rescuers and municipal services continue to remove rubble and extinguish fires.
