So far, the Chinese provinces of Shandong and Henan have recorded 35 cases of human infection.

Deaths, as well as severe courses of the disease, have not yet been recorded.
Its most common symptoms are:
- fever,
- weakness,
- cough,
- anorexia,
- muscle pain,
- nausea,
- vomiting and headache.
