Russia closes skies over St Petersburg "because of an unidentified flying object"

Local media reported that an unidentified flying object was spotted 160 km from the city.
This was reported by the Russian media and local authorities.
Since early this morning, the Russian Defence Ministry has closed the airspace over the Russian city of St Petersburg. The local airport Pulkovo has temporarily not received or dispatched aircraft.
In addition, a "Carpet" plan was imposed in St Petersburg: it is usually declared in case of illegal border crossings, as well as when unidentified objects appear in the airspace.
Fighter jets have been launched into the skies by the Russians.

At the moment the skies over St Petersburg are already open. Russian authorities have not yet commented on the incident.
