Scientists from India and the United States, representing the Aligarh Muslim University and the University of Houston, said throwing away the banana peel is unnecessary. It is pretty suitable for food. Moreover, it can bring significant benefits to the body. This is discussed in a study published in the ACS Food Science & Technology.

They base their conclusions on a thorough examination of the banana skin. Upon its detailed study, it turned out that it contains many valuable substances, and their quantity is inferior to what is observed in the fruit's pulp.

Regarding what to do with the peel, they give simple advice - eat it. The most unbiased - chew it, and those who cannot swallow a banana peel for one reason or another are offered to dry it, then add it to pastries, porridge, and drinks.

Baking with the addition of ground banana peels becomes rich in magnesium and potassium, which helps maintain healthy heart function. The researchers noted that its fiber promotes good digestion and ensures the growth of beneficial flora in the intestines.

Note that bananas contain a lot of potassium, magnesium, phosphorus and vitamins B and C, antioxidants, and sugar. They are recommended as an anti-inflammatory agent and prevention against cancer. Bananas are rarely allergic, so even young children and pregnant women are advised to eat the fruits. And bananas are a great mood booster. And, by the way, they are very satisfying.
