NBU warns of rising prices
Now the prices for vegetables, fruits and berries have risen the most
This is reported by the edition of the League, with reference to the NBU.
The National Bank said that inflation, which rose to 21.5% in June, indicates increased price pressure due to the war. The increase in prices is explained by supply shocks: disruption of supply chains, reduction in the production of certain goods, increased business costs, physical destruction of enterprises and infrastructure.
For example, buckwheat, rice and other cereals went up significantly due to the depletion of stocks and reduced supplies, and salt - due to the shutdown and destruction of the main mining enterprise in Ukraine - the Artyomsol plant.
Due to the disruption of supply chains and higher fuel costs, prices for vegetables, fruits and berries rose faster.
There are no good inflation forecasts at the NBU yet.
The risks of accelerating inflationary processes and worsening expectations continue to remain significant in the context of Russia blocking ports, damaging transport infrastructure and purposefully destroying enterprises and warehouses, the bank said.
