Navy intelligence conducted a unique special operation to evacuate a Marine from captivity
The meeting of mother and son took place in the office of the Commander of the Navy of the AFU Vice-Admiral Alexei Neizhpapa.
The Ukrainian Navy's special intelligence unit "Angels" has carried out a multi-stage special operation to evacuate a marine from Russian captivity. This was reported in the Ukrainian Navy on 4 July.
Ukrainian marine Alexander fell into Russian captivity while performing a mission. He spent about a year and a half in ployenu. During this time he repeatedly became a victim and witness of torture and abuse of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
From the first days of the Marine's captivity, the military of the Special Intelligence Unit of the AFU Naval Forces "Angels" were looking for options for his release. They also supported his mother Olga, who works as a Ukrainian language teacher, in every possible way.
Until the last moment I could not believe that all this was possible. A year ago, on Marine Corps Day, the "Angels" came and promised to bring him back. A year has passed and Sasha is now home. I still can't believe it. Thank you very much to the guys for bringing my son back," says Olga.
A lot of forces were involved to free Alexander. As a result of a complex and multi-stage operation developed by the Intelligence Department of the Navy Command of the AFU, the "Angels" managed to successfully evacuate and return the 29-year-old marine.
For security reasons, the details of the operation are not being disclosed.
The meeting of mother and son took place in the office of the Commander of the Navy of the AFU Vice-Admiral Alexei Neizhpapa, who personally supervised the operation at all its stages.
We remember about everyone. About every sailor, every officer. Yes, unfortunately, many of our guys are in captivity, but we are trying to bring them all back. As our President said: "We remember everyone and we will bring everyone back". Not as quickly as we want, but we will do our best," said the Navy Commander.
Alexander became the 69th person whom the "Angels" successfully evacuated to the Ukrainian-controlled territory.
The Command of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine expresses great gratitude to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba for assistance in this operation.
Earlier, Socialportal reported that scouts of the National Guard's Rubezh brigade captured several dozens of Russian occupants during the military operation.
