NATO invites Zelenski to Vilnius summit
The summit should agree on new steps and measures for long-term support for Ukraine.
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said this in an interview with LRT.
Stoltenberg said that he had personally invited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to attend the NATO summit in Vilnius in July.
I have invited President Zelensky to attend the NATO summit in Vilnius. I strongly believe that this will be a strong sign of our solidarity, of the support that allies are giving to Ukraine, and I hope that Mr Zelensky will be able to attend. Of course this will depend on the situation in Ukraine, which is still at war.
Stoltenberg said he hoped that the summit would adopt new agreements on steps and measures for long-term support for Ukraine.
If Zelensky goes to Vilnius, it will be his third trip abroad since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. He has previously visited the US, Britain, France and Brussels.
