NATO has defined for itself "red lines" after which it will go to war with Russia

NATO has unofficially identified two "red lines" that could be the beginning of the alliance's direct intervention in the war in Ukraine. This was reported by Repubblica.

The newspaper stresses that NATO is not preparing its troops to be sent to Ukraine at this time, but is preparing for possible scenarios that include a direct clash between the NATO army and the Russians.

The first red line

We are talking about the participation of a "third party" in the war and the breakthrough of the Ukrainian border in the north-west. It means an attack on the territory of the country from the side of Belarus.

Such an option has recently been recognised as possible by several allied analysts. Minsk would then be directly involved in the war. Its troops and arsenal would have been decisive for Moscow. And this circumstance could only intensify the defence in favour of Ukraine," the article says.

The second red line

We are talking about provocation or a direct attack on the Baltic States, Poland or Moldova.

It is not necessarily an invasion, which could come after the Odessa offensive, but just a military strike to test the West's reaction," the publication explains.

The publication, citing analysts, says that such a scenario is possible during elections in Europe. At that time, the Kremlin may think that the Alliance is too busy with its own problems and will not be distracted by what is happening outside its borders. However, as NATO representatives assured, elections on the territory of the EU will not be able to reduce vigilance to its eastern borders.
