Munich Security Conference opposes restrictions on military aid to Ukraine

"Instead of drawing red lines, I think we should look at what is needed. Military experts say that when waging a war like this, a combination of several types of weapons is needed. Tanks are needed, artillery is needed, but fighters are also needed, both to protect the air space and to reach targets that are beyond the reach of artillery.

The head of the Munich conference said that strengthening Western "leadership" would help overcome war weariness in Ukraine in Western society:

We must make it clear that if Putin wins this war, things will not end in Ukraine. He himself, as well as his foreign minister, announced a few weeks ago that Moldova will be the next target. Ask the Baltic states - they expect Putin to deploy troops in their direction if he succeeds. So we must be firm, we must continue to support Ukraine.

Heugsen stressed that he does not think we should rule out fighter jet deliveries.
