Military officer and journalist Alla Pushkarchuk "Ruta" died in the war

Servicewoman and journalist Alla Pushkarchuk "Ruta" died in the war at the hands of Russian occupants. This was reported on 25 April by a military officer and former editor-in-chief of Tizhnya, Dmytro Krapivenko.

Alla Pushkarchuk (Ruta) died today. A fragile girl who went to war back in 2014, who left the world of art, studies at the University Karpenko-Kary and the coveted career of a theatre historian, - stated in the message.

Dmitry Krapivenko noted that Alla was from the generation that grew up in the war and greedily made plans for the future. He emphasised that this is an irreplaceable loss in the full sense.

During the Revolution of Dignity, she joined the Right Sector. There she received the call sign "Ruta". Alla served in the 5th separate battalion of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army as a journalist and photographer.

It is worth noting that Alla's report "Povorotvorot pravoruch" was among the top ten finalists of the Samovidets Art Reporting Contest in 2016.

In 2017, Alla made it to the list of winners of the XIX International Photo Contest of the newspaper "Den" with a series of military photo reports.

After demobilisation in 2018, Alla started working as a news editor at the Ukrainian Tizhden magazine, where she worked her way up from a news journalist to a columnist of cultural events. A year later, she started working at the Komora publishing house.

He said he last spoke to Alla this year, at which time they agreed that they would write to each other "when there is some good news".

After Russia's full-scale invasion, Alla joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces with her lover and went to the front, where she fought as a mortar girl. She reportedly died during shelling in the arms of her lover.

According to the Mass Media Institute, journalist Alla Pushkarchuk became 77th in the list of media workers killed as a result of Russia's military aggression against Ukraine.
