Military expert told whether it is possible to release the Zaporizhye nuclear power plant
The city of Energodar and the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant located in it, which the Russians seized in early March, can be liberated during the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Military expert Oleg Zhdanov announced this on his Youtube channel .
A special operation will be carried out to free the nuclear power plant, the expert predicts.
Energodar is located in such a geographical position that it is very easy to surround it. Cut off from supply lines and, in fact, I don't think this grouping will last very long there. Issue an ultimatum to surrender under certain conditions. I think that in this way Energodar will be released. We will not allow ourselves to be blackmailed in terms of the energy market,” Zhdanov said.
According to him, the special operation in Energodar will depend on the success of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Melitopol-Berdyansk direction.
Zhdanov also noted that ordinary local residents tried to protect the city and the station at the beginning of the Russian offensive. At the same time, even territorial defense was not formed in Energodar.
Zaporozhye NPP has been controlled by Russian invaders since March 4. They turned off online monitoring in order to hide their actions from the IAEA and informed the heads of structural divisions of the Zaporozhye NPP that they intended to place the nuclear power plant under the control of Rosatom from September 1.
On June 6, the head of the IAEA, Rafael Mariano Grossi, announced that his agency was preparing an expert mission to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe. According to him, Ukraine allegedly asked for such a visit. The SE NNEGC Energoatom accused Grossi of lying and stated that they did not approve of this visit.
