Lithuania will block IP addresses with access to propaganda channels

Providers will have five days to remove access to propaganda channels.

According to journalists, the Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission (LKRTV) decided to issue mandatory instructions to Internet providers to remove access to IP addresses that allow watching the Kremlin's propaganda TV channels, which are under EU sanctions.

After monitoring by the Lithuanian Commission, it turned out that through some IP addresses, users have access to the TV channels NTV, First Channel, Russia 1, Russia 24 and RTR Planeta, which have been sanctioned for spreading disinformation and propaganda against the EU and its member states.

Providers must now cancel access to these IP addresses no later than five working days from the effective date of this decision

Violation of international sanctions entails administrative and criminal liability.

It is worth recalling that the EU has imposed sanctions against the channels RT (Russia Today), Sputnik, Russia RTR/RTR Planet, Russia 24, TV Centre, NTV/NTV Mir, Russia 1, REN TV, First Channel.
