"Lay low in Belarus". Prior results of the "Prigozhin march"
The case against Prigozhin in the Russian Federation will be closed and he will "go to Belarus".
Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the private military company Vagner, said he was turning around columns of his fighters, who intended to march on Moscow and had already seized some 5,000 kilometres of Russian territory.
Telegram channels with links to the Ministry of Defence have summarised the losses of the Russian Air and Space Forces (AAF) in Prigozhin's "march of justice".
- 3 Mi-8MTR electronic warfare helicopters;
- 1 Mi-8 transport helicopter;
- 1 Ka-52 attack helicopter;
- 1 Mi-35M multirole helicopter;
- 1 IL-22, which served as an air command post.
All of them were lost along with their crews, presumably 13 pilots in total. This level of losses was not seen even during the most tense periods of the armed conflict in the southeast in the Donbass.
Putin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said that the main criminal case against Prigozhin would be closed and he himself would go to Belarus. However, Peskov did not specify what activities Prigozhin plans to carry out there.
What the Kremlin said about the de-escalation of the conflict with Wagner:
- Prigozhin will leave Russia for Belarus and the criminal case against him for rioting will be closed. It is not said who Prigozhin will work in Belarus.
- Some "Wagnerians" who refused to participate in the riot will sign contracts with the Defense Ministry of Russia. Those who did take part will be "forgiven" in view of their "front-line merits".
- The Kremlin predicts that the counter-terrorist operation in Moscow and Russia's regions will be lifted.
- Reshuffles in the Russian Defense Ministry were not discussed during the talks between Lukashenko and Prigozhin.
Peskov also noted that Putin should not expect a new address in the near future.
During the talks with Prigozhin, the issue of personnel changes in the Defense Ministry was not on the agenda," said Putin's spokesman, Peskov.
