Large-scale fire in Odessa region: the wind caused the fire to spread to the national park

The fire started due to arson of dry wood, now the State Emergency Service continues to fight the elements.

On Tuesday, 18 March, a large-scale fire started in Odessa Region, covering more than 10 hectares of open land. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the data of the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations.

Rescuers note that due to strong gusts of wind the fire is rapidly spreading and has already affected the territory of one of the national parks of the region. Fire and rescue units are working hard to prevent the fire from spreading to residential areas.

We again appeal to citizens with a request not to provoke fires of dry vegetation - even a small spark can cause a large-scale fire with irreparable consequences, - the rescuers emphasised.
