Kyiv to start paying aid to those whose housing was destroyed: who and how can get money
Help is available to owners of damaged or destroyed housing from 24 February 2022 if it has not yet been rebuilt and they have not received state compensation.
Kiev residents whose houses have been damaged or destroyed during military operations will be able to receive money for renting flats from the city authorities. This is reported in the Kyiv City State Administration (KSCA). In particular, the Deputy Chairman of the KSCA on social / veteran / gender policy, protection of children's rights, tourism Marina Honda on Facebook specified that the payments are intended for those who lost their homes due to hostilities and now need financial support.
She noted that we are talking about 20 thousand hryvnias of monthly assistance, which the affected family should spend on renting new housing.
To apply for assistance, it is necessary to submit an application to the specialised centres established under the KSCA. For this purpose it will be necessary to confirm the fact of destruction of housing and belonging of the object to the housing fund. It is also important to have documents confirming the right of ownership or residence.
Earlier we used to place socially unprotected residents in the housing of the reserve fund. But today there are no such opportunities. Therefore, on the initiative of the Mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko, the city is switching to rent financing, - said Honda.
Such support will be valid for a year.
The monthly allowance for 12 months (or less - in case of restoration of housing or state compensation) will be received by Kyiv residents who do not own other housing in the capital, - added the official.
Since 2022, Kyiv residents, whose housing was damaged or destroyed, have already received more than 110 million hryvnias of assistance.
