Kuleba told when the Kyiv region will be completely cleared of mines

In the Kyiv region, the demining of settlements has almost been completed, but the forests remain dangerous.

This was told by the head of the Kiev OVA Oleksiy Kuleba, RBC-Ukraine reports.

However, he noted that the area that was contaminated with mines and other explosive objects is extremely large. Therefore, the priority was the demining of settlements - there are 270 of them in the region.

Even the scale of this work was very large. There is Irpin - a city of 100,000. There are small villages where it is easier to carry out such work. After we finish with settlements, we will have fields. Because many agrarians turn to us with this, unfortunately, we had very tragic cases,” Kuleba said.

He stressed that forests remain a huge problem.

Vyshgorodsky, Buchansky, Brovarsky districts - their feature is that there are a lot of forests. And almost all of them are dangerous today, because this zone was contaminated with mines and other explosive objects. In order to clear minefields, forests, as well as the huge Exclusion Zone, it will take years and very significant funds, the head of the Kyiv Regional Military District emphasized.
