Kharkiv residents will return when schools open and jobs appear - Terekhov
A new wave of returns to Kharkiv is expected once schools and kindergartens open in the city.
This was said by Kharkiv mayor Ihor Terekhov during a press conference, suspilne.media reported.
More than a million people now live in Kharkiv. The mayor anticipates a new wave of returns to the city after the opening of educational institutions.
We have to understand that people will come back. The wave of the returns will be when we'll have schools, kindergartens opened, when people will have places to work. This is our main task, but not everything depends on us, but on the security situation. I would open schools even now, but I can't because S-300s take 35-40 seconds to reach us," Terekhov said
The city council plans to continue providing shelters for schools, Terekhov said. Initially, schools will be provided with shelters. However, the mayor did not specify how many shelters are planned to be built and how much they will spend on this.
