Kadyrov said he wants to rest
The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, recorded an appeal in which he complained of old age.
The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, recorded a video message and posted it on his Telegram channel, where he announced that he was going on "an indefinite and long vacation."
He said that he felt old and overstayed and now wanted to rest.
I'm back on the phone, don. That's how we do things. I was told that I have been leading the Republic for 15 years. We, Caucasians, Chechens, have a proverb "no matter how respected, long-awaited the guest is, if he leaves on time, then it's nice." So I think my time has come too. Until I got kicked out. I think I'm already old. Once he was young, inexperienced. And now he has remained the same inexperienced, but his youth has gone somewhere,” Kadyrov said.
Kadyrov has been the head of Chechnya since 2007, he has been in his position longer than any other leader of the Russian regions.
This isn't the first time he's talked about resigning. In 2017, he already said that he wanted to leave, but he stayed.
We add that he is 45 years old.
