Israel: death toll rises to 700, Biden sends aid

US President Joe Biden has ordered additional support for Israel in the wake of the Hamas terror attack.

The death toll in Israel as a result of the Hamas attack has surpassed 700, with more than 2,100 injured, The Times of Israel reports .

The press service of the Israeli government on Sunday confirmed that at least 100 Israelis are being held captive in Gaza.

At the same time, US President Joe Biden ordered additional support for Israel. The White House press office said following talks between Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that additional aid for the Israel Defence Forces is now on its way to Israel and more aid will be provided in the coming days.

According to media reports, the US military is planning to move naval ships and American warplanes closer to Israel as a show of support. The redeployment could begin immediately, but it will take several days to fully move.

The U.S. is also working on plans to evacuate Americans from Israel. There is no concrete solution yet, but one option involves the use of US warships.

Yesterday, Hamas terrorists infiltrated into Israel from the Gaza Strip and engaged Israeli troops. Hamas managed to capture a number of settlements.

By evening, the Israeli military regained control of most of the territory and launched retaliatory strikes on military facilities and Hamas headquarters.
