It has been revealed how much Melania Trump influences President Donald Trump's views and decisions
Relationships within the Trump family continue to influence U.S. foreign policy.
First Lady of the United States Melania Trump has a significant influence on President Donald Trump's views and decisions. According to The Guardian, it was thanks to her opinion that Trump changed his position on Vladimir Putin and on Israel's military operation in the Gaza Strip.
The publication recalls that during a visit to Scotland at the end of July 2025, the President spoke respectfully about his wife, who did not accompany him on a trip to the UK. In particular, he said that he often listens to the opinion of his wife Melania.
Journalists also note that in an interview with the programme Fox and Friends Melania herself confirmed that her husband often turns to her for advice, although not always following her recommendations. The First Lady emphasised that, despite the opinion of society, she is an independent person with her own opinions and beliefs. She admitted that she does not always support her husband's decisions and words, and she considers it quite natural.
Speaking about trust, Trump said during an interaction with journalists that after the departure of billionaire Ilon Musk from his team, he feels distrust towards many people, but Melania does not belong to their number. He, however, noted that she was the one who influenced his stance on Sectar Gaza.
Melania sees what is happening as a tragedy. She sees the same images as the rest of us. People with a heart cannot perceive the suffering of children differently, and it's obvious to everyone," Trump said about the first lady's views on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The American leader stressed that at her prompting, he publicly acknowledged the humanitarian catastrophe and famine in Gaza and promised that the US would establish food aid centres in the region.
The president also noted that Melania's opinion influenced his attitude towards Putin and Russian actions during the talks with Ukraine in Istanbul. According to Trump, his wife repeatedly brought to his attention that the Russian attacks occurred immediately after his phone conversations with Putin.
"I come home and I say, 'Talked to Vladimir today, we had a good conversation'." And she replies: "Really? They just shelled another town,'" Trump revealed.
Although Melania Trump does not reside in the White House, preferring instead to spend most of her time in New York with her son Barron, she regularly visits the Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, especially when the president is there.
