Iran has upgraded the kamikaze drones it supplies to Russia
In particular, Iran has improved the warhead of the drone.
CNN, citing a report by British analysts Conflict Armament Research (CAR), reports:
CAR examined the unexploded warhead of an Iranian Shahed-131 drone found near Odessa in October 2022. The analysts concluded that the manufacturer had "hastily modified" the drone's warhead by adding small metal fragments that fly a long distance when detonated.
Analysts also reported that the Shahed warhead has been outfitted with 18 small additional charges that can amplify the blast and pierce armor.
The upgrade significantly increases the warhead's ability to hit power plants, power lines and transformers, as well as making post-attack repairs much more difficult, CNN reported.
