Iran asked Russia for nuclear materials - US intelligence
Iran, which is actively helping Russia with arms, is counting on the aggressor country to help support the Iranian nuclear program.
US intelligence suggests Iran has been asking Russia for help in acquiring more nuclear materials, CNN reports.
According to the agency's sources, Tehran asked Moscow to help acquire additional nuclear materials and help fabricate nuclear fuel. The fuel could help Iran power nuclear reactors and could potentially further shorten Iran's "breakthrough time" to build nuclear weapons.
The agency notes that it is not yet clear whether Russia has agreed to help, as the Kremlin has long been pointedly opposed to Tehran obtaining nuclear weapons.
Back in September 2021, the Israeli Defense Ministry warned that Iran would be able to create a nuclear bomb in 2-3 months.
We add that Iran is actively helping Russia in the war with Ukraine. In addition to selling its kamikaze drones to Russia, Tehran intends to supply the Kremlin with 1,000 ground-to-ground short-range ballistic missiles.
