India has become the second largest supplier of critical technologies to Russia - Bloomberg
In India, Russia is interested in dual-use goods that can be used as components of machinery, drones and other defence equipment.
India has increased its supplies to the Russian Federation of important technologies that fall under Western sanctions. The volume of Indian exports has become the second largest for Moscow after Chinese exports. Bloomberg writes about it.
Almost 1/5th of the sensitive technologies coming to the Russian military-industrial complex gets there through India, - says the article.
We are talking about microchips, schematics and workbenches. As the publication points out, in April and May such exports exceeded $60 million, which is about twice as much as in the previous months of this year.
The publication notes that the export of most dual-use items to Russia is banned due to sanctions. However, the aggressor country has found other ways to get what it wants. The Russian Federation buys its sub-sanctioned goods in third countries, and sometimes from various subsidiaries of Western firms or through a network of intermediaries.
The largest hubs for the Russians were India, Malaysia and Thailand," Bloomberg points out.
In addition, India has become the main buyer of Russian oil, despite the efforts of Western allies to limit its sales on the world market.
The EU and the US are trying to get the Indian authorities to halt shipments, and several Indian firms have come under Western sanctions, but so far these efforts have failed to affect the overall export of banned goods to Russia.
