In the Bakhmut sector, south of Bakhmut, we are gradually moving forward, - Deputy Minister of Defence
South of Bakhmut, the Ukrainian army is gradually advancing.
This was reported by Ukrainian Deputy Defence Minister Anna Malyar in Telegram.
According to her, the fighting is quite tough. The enemy is firing intensively.
North of Bakhmut, Kupyanshchina and Limanshchina - reflection of enemy attacks without loss of positions. Fighting continues in the area of Kleshcheevka, Kurdyumovka, Andreevka, - said Malyar.
According to Malyar, in the Kupyansk direction the enemy is attacking, trying to dislodge the AFU from the dominant heights.
Today our defenders repelled several assaults without losing positions, - she added.
In the Limansk direction in the area for today also repelled several enemy attacks in the area of Serebryansky forest.
Earlier, Malyar said that during the offensive our defenders have performed military miracles that will be included in textbooks:
Offensive in conditions when the enemy has more both weapons and people. While an offensive is considered possible when the opposite is true. At the same time, our troops are advancing.
And the question should not be raised first of all about the number of kilometres covered, but about the fact of whether we are moving forward or not.
The fact that we are moving in conditions of enemy superiority is a sign of high skill and courage of our defenders. The number of deaths in our offensive directions is much less than in the enemy's. At Bakhmutsk we have 8 times less dead than the enemy. On Berdyansk and Mariupol 5.3 times less.
This is despite the fact that the side that advances usually loses more.
Earlier today, the General Staff reported that the AFU had advanced near Staromayorskoye and were attacking near Bakhmut.
In the area of Staromayorskoye they had success and are consolidating on the achieved borders. At the same time, the enemy continues to provide strong resistance, moves units, actively uses reserves, - said the speaker of the General Staff of the AFU Andrei Kovalev.
He noted that the Ukrainian troops continued offensive operations in three directions of the front, namely in Bakhmut, Melitopol and Berdyansk.
