In Italy, a Russian man left his Ukrainian cohabitant to die in a ravine
The Ukrainian woman's flatmate abused her and isolated her from her family members, whom he, a Russian, hated because they were Ukrainians.
A 33-year-old Ukrainian woman, Marta-Maria Ogryzko, died tragically after falling into a cliff in Italy. Her partner, a 41-year-old Russian, was detained for abuse. About it on 18 July reports Rai News.it.
On the body of the victim in addition to injuries from the fall were found signs of beatings.
The woman fell into a two-metre cliff and could not move. She sought help from her flatmate through Whatsapp and phone calls, but he ignored her pleas for help.
The victim spent the whole night at the bottom of the cliff and was found dead the next morning. An arrest warrant was issued for her partner, a 41-year-old Russian man, on charges of abuse.
According to a mobile phone check, she sent her partner a series of calls and messages desperately asking for help. The suspect took no action to save the woman.
He told the court he went out on the night of 13-14 July to look for his companion and found her in a ravine still alive. He told the woman that "she would have to spend the night there".
The woman died in slow agony and the next morning the Russian found her body himself.
During their relationship, the Russian man repeatedly beat Marta-Maria and threatened her with a knife.
On one occasion, he set fire to her clothes and deliberately forced her to fall on a burning fire, causing her to suffer second-degree burns on her buttocks, arms and stomach.
He also prevented her from seeing members of her family, whom he hated because they were Ukrainian. On one occasion, according to the deceased's sister, he insulted them, calling them "shitty Ukrainians who should die".
In several cases, the woman had to seek help at the emergency department of the hospital in Lacco-Ameno.
