Elon Musk plans to cut 10% of Tesla employees

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has said he has a "very bad feeling" about the economy. An electric car manufacturer needs to cut its workforce by around 10%. It is reported by Reuters agency.

A letter entitled "Suspend hiring worldwide" was sent to Tesla executives on behalf of Elon Musk on Thursday, June 2. In it, he warned of layoffs.

In addition, the letter states that the company is also suspending the hiring of new employees worldwide.

The day before, Musk asked Tesla employees to return to the office or leave the company.

Everyone at Tesla must spend at least 40 hours a week in the office. If you don't show up, we'll assume you quit," Musk wrote in an email sent to employees on Tuesday.

Exceptions for those "especially exceptional employees" who cannot work from the office, Musk intends to review and approve personally, follows from the letter.
