How inflation affected food products in different countries: Turkey - in first place, Ukraine - in sixth

In terms of inflation for some foodstuffs in the world, Ukraine is in sixth place.

Despite the harvest season, food prices are rising in many parts of the world—Picodi.com analysts report this.

Analysts analyzed the cost of potatoes, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, oranges, bananas, and apples in 94 countries for January-June 2022 and ranked these products according to inflation. Oddly enough, Turkey took first place in this ranking. In this country, vegetables and fruits have risen in price by an average of 72%, and tomatoes - by 112%.

Belarus and Russia took the second and third places in price growth: 33.4% and 27.3%, respectively. In Belarus, the price of tomatoes also increased (52%), and in Russia - potatoes (45%).

Despite the war on its territory, Ukraine took 6th place with a total price increase of 19.9%. Most of all, in our country, the onion has risen in price (61%).

Today, its average cost has increased from UAH 9.78. to UAH 15.72, that is, by 60.7%. Tomatoes also went up significantly: from UAH 39.12 to UAH 58.36. At the same time, apples in the country fell in price by 16.9%: their cost decreased from UAH 22.8 to UAH 18.94. The total cost of all considered products in January amounted to UAH 174.2, and in July it increased by 19.9% to UAH 207.4, the Ministry of Finance reported.

In conclusion, Picodi.com analysts told which products in which countries have risen in price the most.

So, for example, apples jumped in price the most in Andorra (82%), bananas - in Belarus (47.7%), and oranges (50.5%), tomatoes (121.6%), onions (72, 8 %), potatoes (84%) and lettuce (83.7%) in Turkey.
