Thanks to the SBU, the leaders of the Russian Central Election Commission who held fake "elections" in the temporarily occupied regions of Ukraine have been suspected.

The SBU has documented new crimes of the head of the Russian Central Electoral Commission, Ella Pamfilova, who is involved in waging a war of aggression against Ukraine. This was reported by the SBU.

According to the investigation, the Russian official organised a large-scale falsification of the "results" of illegal elections in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson, Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk and Luhansk regions this autumn, - reported in the SBU.

She involved two of her subordinates, Pavel Andreev and Lyudmila Markina, in the illegal activities. On Pamfilova's instructions, they participated in the creation of occupation "terizbirkom" and artificial "legitimisation" of the fake plebiscite.

Based on the collected evidence, the SBU investigators informed the three Russian officials of suspicion in absentia under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

  • p. 5 Art. 27 and Part 2 Art. 437 (planning, preparation, unleashing and waging a war of aggression committed by prior conspiracy of a group of persons);
  • p. 5 Art. 27, Part 3 Art. 110 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, committed by prior conspiracy of a group of persons).

Since the defendants are on the territory of the Russian Federation, comprehensive measures are being taken to bring them to justice for crimes against Ukraine.
