GUR special forces conducted a special operation in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation
During the mission, the scouts mined the only road on which the invaders were travelling and also attacked a Russian platoon stronghold.
Soldiers of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry have carried out a special operation in Russia's Belgorod Region. This was reported by the GUR on 5 January.
In connection with the increasing cases of sabotage by Russians and for the sake of protection of civilian Ukrainians living in communities near the state border and suffering from aggressor attacks, soldiers of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine implemented a set of special actions, - the intelligence service said.
According to the intelligence received, the top leadership of the occupation army of the Russian Federation planned an inspection at the Russian positions in Graivoron district of Belgorod region due to the dissatisfaction and complaints of the personnel there about poor conditions of service.
Before the arrival of the Moscow "inspectors" the rank-and-file invaders made a fuss - they began to carry out active engineering works. In order to inflict losses on the enemy and worsen its moral and psychological state, the special forces of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry's GUR planned and carried out a special operation," the GUR said.
During the mission the scouts mined the only road on which the invaders were travelling in the specified area, as well as attacked the Russian platoon stronghold.
As a result of fire contact using small arms and mortars, as well as detonation of Ukrainian mines, the enemy suffered casualties. The number of liquidated and wounded occupants is being specified.
