GUR: Russian Federation to receive new shipment of kamikaze drones from Iran, number unknown
The number of the new batch of Shaheds is not yet known, but previous deliveries were 250-300 in one batch.
The SMM said that Russia relies on the number of expected UAVs, because a cluster of drones in any particular direction can break the air defence system and hit a target.
The main intelligence directorate also said that the enemy is now launching drones from the Russian coast of the Sea of Azov. Previously, the Russians launched from Crimea. It should be understood that the Russian forces may choose another direction with less air defence in their path.
The Russians use different altitudes and different directions to bypass the air defences, as well as changing the drone launch areas.
The contract between Moscow and Tehran provides for the delivery of a combined 1,750 units. The Main Intelligence Directorate believes Iran is preparing new deliveries.
