Humenyuk explains why Russians are shelling southern Ukraine
The occupiers have had no success on the front line.
Natalya Humenyuk, spokeswoman for the South Ukrainian Defence Forces, said this in a televised marathon.
According to Humenyuk, the intensive shelling in southern Ukraine is due to the fact that the Russian occupants have no victories.
It has more to do with the fact that the enemy has no certain victories - no convincing advances in the east of Ukraine, no successes along the front line in the south.
Thus, as Natalia Gumenyuk says, the enemy wants to divert the attention of the Ukrainian population to the trouble, to the tragedy, the culprits of which are the Russians themselves.
In addition, the occupiers are preparing to defend the territories in the south of Ukraine, which they have occupied.
They are now reinforcing the second and third lines of defence.
They are also building defensive lines and upgrading engineering in these areas.
