SBU chief speaks out about Russian hacking attacks on Ukraine
The number of Russian cyber attacks on Ukraine has increased fivefold since 2020.
The head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, said this in an interview with the Independent.
He said that the number of Russian cyber attacks on Ukraine has increased fivefold compared to 2020.
For example, the SBU recorded 800 cyber attacks in 2020 and about 2,000 in 2021. But after the full-scale invasion, more than 4,500 of them were recorded.
Currently, Russia carries out an average of more than 10 cyber-attacks daily... The targets are different: state resources, critical infrastructure facilities, etc. But we are successfully countering the enemy in cyberspace as well.
It is worth recalling that back on 23 February, Russian hackers carried out one of the largest cyber attacks on Ukrainian state and local government websites.
Furthermore, the attacks have not only increased in Ukraine. NATO has also recorded four times as many attacks on its servers.
