Estonian foreign minister responds to sledgehammer sent to European Parliament by Prigozhin
Sledgehammer has become associated with the Wagner PMC and the extrajudicial executions carried out by its members, during the war in Syria.
Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu has sent handcuffs to the Hague for Russian Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of the Wagner PMC. The politician reacted this way to Prigozhin's promise to send to the European Parliament a sledgehammer with sham blood traces in a violin case. Reinsalu said in a video message:
I will send these handcuffs to the headquarters of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, where they will await Prygozhin and his henchmen for crimes committed in Ukraine
We shall remind you that Prigozhin has promised to send an "information case" with a sledgehammer to the European Parliament in response to his intention to recognize the Wagner PMC as a terrorist organization. He commented on his gesture: "I do not know what law governs the European Parliament, but according to our legislation as of today we declare the European Parliament dissolved.
The sledgehammer has become associated with the Wagner PMC and the extrajudicial executions carried out by its members during the war in Syria. In 2017, they filmed a man being beaten to death with a sledgehammer. The Arab press claimed that the executed man was a deserter from Bashar al-Assad's army. Last week, a deserter from the Wagner PMC was killed in video for switching to Ukrainian captivity.
