Germany says new tranche of financial aid to Ukraine
The money should go towards rebuilding the country.
Germany will allocate an additional 200m euros for the reconstruction of Ukraine. This was announced by the state secretary of the German Federal Ministry of Economics, Jochen Flasbart, during his visit to Ukraine, DPA wrote.
According to Flasbart, who in the German federal government is responsible for coordinating efforts to rebuild Ukraine, the money will be used to rebuild schools, hospitals, as well as drinking water supplies in regions where people have difficulty accessing clean water. Some of the money will be used to repair the infrastructure of Ukrainian cities.
In its activities to rebuild Ukraine's destroyed infrastructure, Berlin will proceed from the assumption that this infrastructure will subsequently become pan-European," he pointed out.
Flasbart noted that the issue of resuming the work of agriculture also remains topical, as "people need prospects and jobs".
It should be noted that taking into account this amount, the German Ministry of Reconstruction will allocate about one billion euros in total to support the civilian population of Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian aggression in February 2022.
