Four-legged defenders were awarded in Kiev
An award ceremony for service dogs was held in Kiev. The public organisation "Cynological Union of Ukraine" organises an award ceremony for four-legged defenders for the second time.
The purpose of the event is to celebrate the achievements of cynologists and service dogs of state authorities of Ukraine's security and defence sector since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This is reported by the State Emergency Situations Service.
In the nomination "For the saved life" was awarded rescue-dynologist of the Mobile rescue centre of rapid response of the State Emergency Service Olga Bibikova and service dog epagnol-breton "Ninja".
They, as part of the combined squad of the State Emergency Service, participated in the elimination of the consequences of the earthquake in Turkey. It was Ninja on the ninth day of search and rescue work identified the place where the injured 30-year-old woman was under the rubble.
Also in this nomination were noted the cinematographer of the State Emergency Service Department of Chernihiv region Oleksiy Mandrik and the service dog - Belgian shepherd dog "Langur". In March this year in the village of Guchin, Chernigov region, a 2-year-old girl disappeared.
Alexey and Langur took part in the search operation. Surveying the forest area, the dog picked up the trail and led the search team to the little girl. The girl in satisfactory condition was handed over to medics.
In the nomination "Search for explosives" was awarded the head of the department of special mine-search operations of the Interregional Centre of rapid response of the State Emergency Service Alexander Zhurid and German shepherd dog "Harti".
They took part in demining the de-occupied territories of Sumyshchyna. In particular, about 50 hectares of agricultural land and a large number of infrastructure objects were inspected.
