Fitzo flew in for talks with Putin
Fitzo's visit to Russian Federation was planned several days ago, the Kremlin said.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo has arrived in Russia and is holding a meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin. This is reported by pro-Kremlin media.
Negotiations are held behind closed doors.
Earlier it was reported that Fitzo may go to the talks with Putin on the supply of Russian gas.
According to the mass media, Fico's visit to Moscow was prompted by the fact that the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine will stop on 1 January. Kiev refused to extend the transit agreement with Gazprom, which was signed in 2019. As is known, Slovakia has repeatedly tried to reach an extension of the agreement between Ukraine and Russia on the transit of Russian gas, which expires in 2024.
According to the Kremlin, Fitzo last met Putin in Russia in 2016. Next year, Fitzo promised to come to Russia to celebrate the anniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War.
It should be noted that Fitzo became the third European leader after Austrian Chancellor Karl Negammer and Viktor Orban to visit Moscow since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
