The spacecraft flew over the Karman Line, which most countries recognise as the boundary of outer space.

on 14 April, a capsule of Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket successfully landed in Texas on a suborbital commercial flight with six women on board. Among the participants of the mission was the famous American singer Katy Perry. About it reports RBC-Ukraine with reference to The Guardian.

The crew also included:

  • former NASA employee Aisha Bowe,

  • bioastronautics specialist Amanda Nguyen,

  • journalists Gail King and Lauren Sanchez,

  • film producer Carianne Flynn.

It was the first suborbital flight in history staffed entirely by women since Valentina Tereshkova's solo flight in 1963.

The launch took place from a Blue Origin pad located 30 miles from the town of Van Horn, Texas. The duration of the flight was 11 minutes: the capsule rose to the edge of space, reaching an altitude of about 80,000 feet, and then returned to Earth.

Before the launch, the mission participants took part in a photo shoot for a fashion magazine. Specially for the flight were developed individual blue suits, the author of which was Lauren Sanchez. According to her, the clothes were adapted to the anatomical features of the women and had to emphasise their individuality.

During the landing, when the capsule opened its parachutes, the female passengers reacted emotionally to the return. The landing was greeted with applause and all the female participants felt good.

After landing, singer Katy Perry kissed the ground. During the flight, she performed the song "What a Wonderful World." Amanda Nguyen gave a speech, noting:
No dream is too crazy. It was the most incredible experience of my life to see the darkness of space and our planet from above.

Journalist Gail King added that she will never forget the day and hopes that such an experience will become available to many.
