Dollars and euros are leaving Russia: details

Russian banks do not open savings accounts and deposits in dollars and euros for their clients. The reason is sanctions.

Finance.ua writes about it.

Large Russian banks, including Sovcombank, PSB, Rosbank, Otkritie, Raiffeisenbank and Tinkoff, do not open savings accounts and deposits in dollars and euros for their clients. All because of the sanctions imposed against Russia for the war in Ukraine, the report says.

So, it is now impossible to open a foreign currency account in Sovcombank. The PSB said that they could not offer anything for new clients, but “there are options for existing ones.”

It has been impossible to issue accounts in dollars and euros at Rosbank since June 9. Only ruble deposits are available.
