During a week, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated 7 settlements in Zaporizhya direction - General Staff

During the week, the Defense Forces are conducting offensive operations in the Zaporozhye region. During this time, 7 settlements were returned to the control of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have advanced 3 to 6.5 km deep into the enemy defence and liberated 103 sq km of Ukrainian territory.

Brigadier-General Oleksiy Hromov, deputy head of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this at a briefing at the Military Media Centre.

Over the past week, the Ukrainian Defence Forces in the Zaporizhzhya direction have sacked 7 settlements, regaining control over 103 sq km of Ukrainian territory. The Ukrainian units advanced 3 to 6.5 km deep into the enemy defence," the statement said.

In particular, in the Melitopol direction, Ukrainian troops advanced up to 3 km south of the village of Malaya Tokmachka, occupying an area of 22 km2 and liberating the village of Lobkovo, it said.

In addition, in the Berdyansk direction, the Ukrainian army liberated six settlements: Levadnoye, Novovorovka, Neskuchnoye, Storozhevo, Makarovka and Belogorovka. Control over 81 km2 of territory has been restored.

Earlier, Sotsportal reported that the Defence Forces had advanced up to 1.5km in the Zaporizhzhya direction. In particular, individual units of the National Guard have advanced 650 to 1,500 metres in the direction of Novopokrovka village.
