Bulgarian President opposed Ukraine's accession to NATO under the accelerated procedure

This is reported by the BNR publication, citing a statement released by the press service of Bulgarian President Rumen Radev.

He believes that Ukraine can become a NATO member only after the end of the war.

Military operations on the territory of Ukraine today require that its membership in the Alliance is discussed in the entire composition of the North Atlantic Council and does not lead to the risk of NATO countries being directly involved in the war, — he said.

Essentially, Radev is saying that a solution must first be found to end Russia's war with Ukraine.
