British intelligence: Russian military are given old weapons, this complicates logistics
Ukrainian truth
Russian logisticians will have to put forward two types of ammunition for small arms, not one
This is reported by British intelligence.
Russian conscripts are given obsolete weapons. Because of this, a new problem appears - the delivery of cartridges for old AKM assault rifles.
British intelligence, citing images from open sources, emphasizes that the mobilized reservists were issued AKMs - machine guns first introduced in 1959.
The old AKM has a cartridge caliber of 7.62 mm. While the newer weapons owned by Russian contractors are 5.45 mm.
The integration of reservists with contract soldiers and combat veterans in Ukraine would mean that Russian logisticians would have to push two types of small arms ammunition to the front line, rather than one, according to British intelligence.
